The ancient city of Troy is the basis of Homer’s Iliad and site of the Trojan War. Troy lies in present-day western Turkey, at Canakale on the ancient Scamander River.

Early departure for Canakkale.

Arrive in Eceabat and lunch at Maydos Restaurant. Continue on to Troy, which is best known for being the focus of the Trojan War described in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad by Homer of Smyrna. In the Iliad, the Achaeans set up their camp near the mouth of the river Scamander (presumably modern Karamenderes), where they had beached their ships. The city of Troy itself stood on a hill, across the plain of Scamander, where the battles of the Trojan War took place. After the tour, depart for Istanbul. Arrive in Istanbul around 23:45pm.
